Its pillars glow with light. Each one is a single block of crystal, through which filters a diffused light. The altar is solid light. Beneath us the floor has gone and we see only the star fields of the infinite cosmos.
We look up and see the same thing; there are only the walls surrounding us, then gradually they, too, fade and disappear.
We sit in our chairs, the altar in the center, the pillars glowing either side of the east.
Then the altar blazes with light dazzling our inner sight, and fades from view; the same thing happens with the pillars, then with our chairs, so we are suspended in space.
